Spread the ONE LOVE!
One Love is a nationwide nonprofit that teaches young people about healthy relationships and how to avoid abuse. Their goal is to prevent domestic abuse and sexual assault before it happens. Instead of focusing on terms like “domestic abuse” or “sexual assault,” One Love uses “healthy” and “unhealthy” behaviors to show everyone can improve relationship habits for healthier connections.
One Love’s prevention education is built around the “10 Signs of Healthy and Unhealthy Relationships,” which guide each workshop. These workshops, using films and discussions, are for students from 4th grade through age 24. This year, One Love’s curriculum was accepted into our schools, for 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th grade.
- 4th graders will engage in the “Friendlets” series.
- 5th graders will be introduced to One Love’s 10 Signs through scenario-based activities.
- 7th graders will watch the “Couplets” series.
- 8th graders will explore the digital version of the 10 Signs and receive additional lessons.
Seekhaven’s Prevention Team also wants to equip trusted adults with One Love’s language and knowledge. They have invited Moab’s mentors to learn about the 10 Signs so they can help students practice these concepts and model healthy relationship behaviors.
In this workshop, Mentors will learn the fundamentals of the 10 Signs, encouraging them to reflect on their own relationships. By connecting with these concepts, participants will learn the same language their mentees are using, helping them continue important conversations and support the goal of fostering healthier relationships for everyone.
