Community-Based Mentoring Blasts Off!
Starting in the fall, middle and high school matches were allowed to visit approved sites throughout the Moab region. 100% of participating students expressed enthusiasm for this type of mentoring over school-based mentoring. A seventh grade student said, “I like community based mentoring better because we can just go, just me and her. We went to the Moab Diner, City Market, Back of Beyond Books, the Spoke. My favorite off-campus trip was when we took her dog for a walk and went to her workplace.”
This is the first summer when community-based mentors can meet when school is not in session. The same policy applies, and mentors must complete their online logs.
